My name is Ryan. I am an 18 year old college freshman from Indiana. I will be attending college starting in August and will be studying Computer Science as a major. I am a long time fan of The Sims and have been playing it since 2001.
My Personal Life:
I am very actively involved in my community and love to help others. I have helped with tornado disasters in my own community and with several volunteer projects abroad. I have served as a boy scout and have earned Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting. In high school, I was actively involved in my school band program and I participated in Concert Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Marching Band, and Band Council, while even serving as the elected Band Council President. I also earned the John Philip Sousa Marching Band Award from my high school band director upon my graduating year.
I graduated high school with an academic honors diploma and earned several scholarships due to my community involvement and academics. Though, I wasn't the smartest person in my class, I managed to get a class rank of 30 out of a little over 150 students.
I actually owe a lot of my nerdyness to The Sims. The Sims made me highly interested in computers, video games, and multimedia technology.
The Sims and I:
I have been playing The Sims since 2001 when I discovered The Sims for the Play Station 2. Odd enough, it wasn't the PC that brought me to love the franchise as it had been with most simmers. I, myself, have a distinct want to have full control over things and full power, and The Sims franchise has been a game where I have found that ability, the ability to control every aspect of a characters life and their world. I actually blame The Sims for teaching me how to type quickly, for giving me a better understanding of computers, and for giving me a deep interest for computers and technology. The Sims has actually been a major benefactor in my life to that extent.
